We are seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Developer to join one of Germany’s fastest-growing legal tech startups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python/Django and/or TypeScript/Vue.js. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions to address complex business challenges in the legal tech space.
As a Tech Lead , you will lead a small, dynamic team of developers, ensuring best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation. This is a hands-on position where you'll have the opportunity to write high-quality code, mentor junior team members, and make key architectural decisions. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Team leadership :
Demonstrated experience in leading development teams, managing day-to-day technical execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of features. Skilled at mentoring and coaching a team of 3-5 developers , fostering technical growth, motivation, and adherence to best practices.
Hands-On Development :
Extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions using Python/Django and/or TypeScript/Vue.js. Actively contributes to the codebase alongside the team, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Technical Collaboration & Innovation:
Proven ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges, providing hands-on support and ensuring alignment with product goals. Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Stays updated on emerging technologies and trends, integrating them into development processes where appropriate.
Project Management & Delivery:
Track record of overseeing project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery. Strong communication skills to effectively report progress, challenges, and risks to stakeholders.
Process Optimization:
Experienced in improving development workflows and processes, optimizing team efficiency, and supporting organizational growth. Familiar with Agile methodologies , and version control systems such as Git.
Proven Experience & Leadership: 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar technical role, with a proven track record of guiding and mentoring development teams. You foster a collaborative and positive team environment while leading through complex technical challenges.
Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python/Django and/or TypeScript/Vue.js , with hands-on experience in cloud-based architectures and scalable systems. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD.
Version Control & Tools: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems. Experience with databases , web servers , and UI/UX design is a plus.
Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to guide a team through complex technical challenges. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Language Skills: Fluency in German (C1/C2) and English.
