Remote, but you must be in the following location
Qdrant is a cutting-edge technology company building an open-source vector database and managed cloud platform for next-generation AI applications. Our technology enables high-performance vector search and powers AI-driven search, recommendation, and discovery systems at scale. We are a remote-first company, building a global team of engineers focused on infrastructure, scalability, and developer experience.
As a Staff Platform UI Engineer , you will own and evolve the frontend platform and UI architecture of Qdrant Cloud. This role focuses on building shared UI foundations — design systems, component libraries, architectural patterns, and tooling — that enable multiple teams to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality user experiences.
This is a senior individual contributor role with broad technical ownership and influence across teams, not a people management position
Define and evolve the UI platform
Design and own the frontend architecture for Qdrant Cloud with a strong focus on modularity, scalability, and performance
Build and maintain a shared React + TypeScript component library and design system used across products and teams
Define standards for state management, routing, API integration, error handling, and frontend observability
Hands-on frontend development
Implement complex, high-impact UI features using modern React tooling (TypeScript, TanStack, OpenAPI-driven clients)
Ship well-structured, testable code and continuously improve frontend developer experience
Profile and optimise frontend performance, bundle size, and runtime behaviour
Backend integration & collaboration
Work closely with backend engineers to shape APIs, contracts, and data flows that serve UI needs
Contribute to backend services (Python) when needed to unblock or improve frontend capabilities
Partner with Product and Design to translate requirements and UX flows into robust, maintainable implementations
Technical leadership
Act as the go-to technical reference for frontend and UI platform topics across Cloud teams
Mentor frontend engineers, review critical pull requests, and raise the overall quality bar
Drive architectural decisions around frontend libraries, patterns, and tooling
Quality, reliability & delivery
Own key parts of the frontend delivery pipeline (CI/CD, testing, linting, quality gates)
Define and track quality and performance metrics (e.g. Core Web Vitals, error rates, build times)
Ensure the UI platform is secure, observable, and resilient by default
Must have
5+ years of experience in frontend engineering, with ownership of production React applications
Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, including modern composition patterns and hooks
Strong understanding of web platform fundamentals (browser internals, HTTP, caching, performance)
Proven experience designing frontend architectures, shared component libraries, or design systems
Experience collaborating closely with backend teams and working with APIs in complex systems
Strong technical leadership skills as an individual contributor
Clear communication skills and an ownership-driven mindset
Nice to have
Experience with Python backends (Flask, FastAPI)
Familiarity with frameworks and libraries such as Next.js, Remix, TanStack Router/Query
Experience with scalable, modular frontend architectures
Knowledge of OpenAPI, GraphQL, and/or WebSockets
Previous experience in SaaS, cloud platforms, or developer-facing products
Competitive salary, equity, and benefits
Fully remote setup with flexible working hours
High-impact role owning the UI platform of a core cloud product
Opportunity to shape how developers and customers interact with Qdrant Cloud
Professional growth as a Staff-level IC in a technically ambitious environment
If you enjoy building frontend platforms, shaping architecture at scale, and enabling teams through strong technical foundations, we’d love to hear from you.
