Staff Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Engineer in Texas (USA).

In this role, you will drive the delivery of complex software initiatives while guiding and mentoring a team of engineers. You will have a direct impact on the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performing web applications, contributing to the companyโ€™s mission of transforming healthcare solutions. Your work will span cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and business teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. You will be responsible for both technical excellence and team growth, shaping engineering practices and delivering high-quality solutions that improve user experience and client outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-growing, innovative environment.

*  **Accountabilities**
* Lead the delivery of major initiatives, ensuring cohesion across multiple features and contributors.
* Coach and mentor engineers on design, coding, and best practices for scalable and maintainable applications.
* Guide software development processes, including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
* Identify and implement process and code improvements to optimize maintainability, performance, and user experience.
* Collaborate with product, design, sales, and client success teams to meet organizational goals.
* Communicate technical vision and initiative goals clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Evaluate solution options, presenting recommendations with considerations of scope, resources, and team capacity.

*  **Requirements**
* 8+ years of professional experience in software development, including 2+ years in leadership or management roles.
* Strong technical expertise in Python, Django, Typescript with React, Java, Hibernate ORM, SQL, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Heroku.
* Experience leading teams in Agile, Scrum, or Lean environments.
* Proven ability to coach engineers, manage complex initiatives, and foster a collaborative team culture.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Experience working in fast-paced, startup environments is preferred.
