Main Purpose and Function

The Backend API Developer at InfoTrust is responsible for developing and implementing robust and scalable backend services, with a focus on API development using Node.js and Python. This role is crucial in creating efficient, secure, and maintainable APIs that support front-end applications and data processing. Additionally, the Backend API Developer will manage backend production and development environments for the Research and Development team, ensuring stable and efficient operation. The Developer will collaborate with a dynamic team throughout the development lifecycle, from conceptualizing backend solutions to coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining APIs. This position contributes significantly to the technical soundness and performance of our digital products.

As a Backend API Developer with expertise in Node.js and Python at InfoTrust, you will play a key role in shaping the technical landscape. You will design and implement APIs that support intuitive user interfaces and robust data processing, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality backend services. Your responsibility in managing the backend environments will be pivotal in maintaining the operational integrity and effectiveness of the Research and Development team's projects.

Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Essential Functions

• Develop backend APIs using Node.js and Python, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

• Assist in architecting backend solutions that support front-end applications and data processing needs.

• Manage and maintain backend production and development environments, ensuring stability and efficiency for the Research and Development team.

• Work collaboratively with front-end developers, data teams, and UI/UX designers to ensure efficient API integration and data utilization.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and optimization to maintain high-quality code standards.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in backend development, particularly in Node.js, Python, and API design.

Location

Remote work is available for candidates in the US (EST or CST time zones). Alternatively, a hybrid model can be opted for in our Chicago or Cincinnati offices.

Education Level/Skills

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development, with a focus on API development using Node.js and Python.

• Proficiency in backend technologies (Node.js, Python) and understanding of RESTful API design.

• Familiarity with database and Cloud technologies.

• Experience in managing backend production and development environments (Google Cloud preferred).

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

• Interest in continuous learning and applying new technologies and methodologies in backend development.

KPIs and Measurement of Performance

• Project Completion and Milestone Achievement: Track the on-time delivery of projects and the achievement of project milestones. This KPI assesses the ability to manage and execute projects within set timelines, reflecting on project management skills and efficiency in workflow.

• API Performance and Reliability: Track the performance, uptime, usability, and reliability of developed APIs.

• Development and Environment Management Efficiency: Assess the effectiveness in managing and maintaining backend production and development environments.

• Collaboration and Integration Success: Evaluate the effectiveness of collaboration with other teams in integrating backend solutions with front-end applications and data systems
