Software developer
Adyen is looking for a full-time software developer for its network automation team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate should have broad Python experience writing applications and tooling using industry standards and best practices. You should be willing to teach other engineers about the different options and flavors of Python coding and be able to explain which tools and frameworks to use when. Your advanced programming knowledge will be utilized on various projects for taking our in house build network for payments to the next level.
What you’ll do
Develop applications and APIs in Python to interface with our network equipment;
Integrating our network stack with open source tooling to supply our internal customers with self service options;
Automate the deployment of network devices and servers;
Automate the configuration and inventory management of both our network hardware as well as our network connections;
You will create and maintain tools to monitor network performance and analyze network irregularities to ensure system availability and reliability written in Python;
Develop new tools to help manage our remote network infrastructure;
Mentor others with developing better coding skills and using best practices.
Who you are
Technology: You have at least 5 years experience developing tools and applications, are on top of the current best practices and industry standards;
Experience with programming and designing APIs, experience with Django is a plus;
Experience with (unit) testing;
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab CI or Jenkins;
Experience with running applications in Docker and/or Kubernetes;
Experience with database design;
Experience with setting up distributed application is a plus;
Interest in networking and familiarity with terms like: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, etc.
Mentality: You are a team-player who is open to feedback. Able to work in a 24/7 environment, make quick informed decisions, and handle pressure.
