SharePoint Developer & Support

Job Title: SharePoint Developer & Support

Reporting To: IT Director

Location: Hammersmith, London

Contract Duration: 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility to extend/convert to permanent contract.


As a member of Assala’s UK IT team, you will have the opportunity to build and support a wide portfolio of software for use across Assala. While this role is focused on SharePoint development and support, you will also be developing in back end and full-stack technologies like Python, Django, database, JavaScript, REST APIs, among others.


In this capacity you will:

  • Analyze, create, build, test and implement enterprise-scale applications and solutions utilizing Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint in accordance with processes, standards and best practices;

  • Project and construct custom SharePoint Online sites and solutions;

  • Create and develop Power BI Business Intelligence reports and dashboards;

  • Knowledge of current graphics design and .NET technologies, C#, JavaScript, CSS and HTML, to develop, modify, maintain SharePoint portals;

  • Manage site content and capabilities and provide maintenance of existing Assala portals;

  • Engage with users and stakeholders to capture, confirm and document their requirements followed by development and implementation;

  • Documents and demonstrate proposed solutions by developing documentation, workflow, layouts, diagrams, and charts;

  • Develop new forms or update/amend existing forms as requested whilst adhering to best practice, corporate and IT standards;

  • Ensure access to information is restricted to those authorized;

  • Work with the Cybersecurity team to ensure any known or identified SharePoint security vulnerabilities are addressed;

  • Action assigned ServiceNow support tickets (both Incident and requests);

  • Prepare monthly performance report for IT Director;

  • Oversee SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services.

  • Experience and knowledge of 3rd party tools such as Sharegate.


You will be successful in this capacity if you can effectively use your existing knowledge of SharePoint Online development, and the range of M365 applications to help develop Assala’s SharePoint infrastructure. You will gather requirements from a wide range of people and turn those ideas into working systems that will enhance the business efficiency and ultimately have a positive impact on the user’s experience. You will also be meticulous by producing high quality deliverables and driven to see a task through to completion with minimal supervision as well as work in a collaborative manner, in addition to having specific competencies as enlisted below:


Essential competencies:

  • Skilled in the design, development, configuration, and implementation of SharePoint Online applications:

  • - SharePoint Framework (SPFx)

    - Client-Side Object Model (CSOM)

    - SharePoint REST service

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI

  • Experience developing with C#, .NET, Web Services, Web Forms, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, React, JSON, Web APIs, Visual Studio and API integrations.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.

  • Ability to communicate fluently and confidently to a high standard in both written and verbal English when interacting with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels.

  • Exposure to working within a large/medium-sized corporate/consulting firm with at least 3-5 years of experience.

Desirable competencies:

  • Experience in developing ServiceNow environments would be a highly advantageous.

  • Ability to communicate in both written and verbal French fluently.


This is an opportunity offered on a FTC basis of 12 months, with possible conversion to a permanent role, subject to performance.
