Senior Software Engineer - Python - CPE Integrations

 The Position 

 We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Products Integration Team. You will be an excellent communicator, pragmatic thinker, and problem solver, you’ll be working in an area where you have customers either side of you and you’ll do what’s needed to allow those customers to integrate seamlessly. Your proactive approach will ensure that we’re responsive, able to balance workload and solutions- focused without losing sight of the vision set out by the team.  You’ll contribute to implementing a new API Gateway pattern for our product teams in FanDuel to expose functionality out to other consumers while maintaining and supporting our existing software.   

 If you are curious, can spot opportunities for improvements, enjoy working problems through to solutions and understand the importance of clear communication, then you’ll thrive in this role. 

 You’ll be responsible for  

 Executing and refining the team’s vision 

  • Writing performant, scalable and testable code with minimal defects 

  • Reviewing colleagues code and suggesting improvements where required 

  • Maintenance and Monitoring of new and existing Integration solutions 

  • Onboarding customers to the gateway 

 What We’re Looking For  

  • You’re an experienced Python API developer (our preference is 4years of commercial experience working in Python). 

  • You may have experience with Java, AWS and IaC tools, but none of these are essential.  

  • You want to work in a high impact area. Our services handles millions of requests on a slow day so our code must be reliable: errors impact FanDuel users experience. 

  • You enjoy solving difficult problems.  We have the obviously challenges of growth and scale but also need to meet new requirements from our product teams. 

  • You’re excited by the challenges of massively variable load driven by US sporting events.  You might love sports or have no interest in them but you care about running a reliable high-performance system.

Location: Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a Gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where team members come together at the hub as required.
