Location : Hybrid (3 days working from office)

We are looking for a motivated and talented Senior Software Engineer to work on our core insurance product. This work is critical to everything we do and directly impacts the value we bring to our customers. In this role you will work on a combination of 0-1 (exploring new market segments ) growth initiatives as well as doubling down on our existing insurance offering (scale and performance).
A day in the life:
Develop and ship high-quality, production ready code that can enhance the experience for both internal and external customers.
Make design decisions on the basis of performance, scalability, and future expansion.
Understand insurance rating algorithms and scoring models, solve them in a tech first way by applying first principle thinking.
Build and scale our backend systems to support existing and newer growth initiatives.
Contribute to and consistently raise the bar for engineering best-practices such as coding standards, writing well-tested code, extensible reusable libraries.

What you will need:
4+ years in backend software development, writing and maintaining production-grade software that is designed to be performant, scalable and resilient
Experience with the Python programming language and common Python web frameworks like Flask and Django is a plus
Understanding of HTTP APIs, Message brokers, relational databases like Postgresql, and working in containerized and Linux environment in the cloud (we use AWS)
Experience working on customer facing products and being part of 0-1 and 1-10 journey
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Self-driven and able to work independently
Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
