Senior Software Engineer

Since 2018, Wisp has been on a mission to put healthcare back in patients’ hands. We connect patients with hassle-free sexual + reproductive care online, with discreet and convenient treatment that saves them time, money, and stress. Our goal is to empower everyone to make the decisions about their health that are right for them. We’ve scaled quickly, serving patients across the nation and becoming part of the WELL Health family—and now we want you.

We are a growing, fully-remote team in the United States looking for collaborators who are committed to our mission, passionate about results, eager to build something amazing, and excited to have high levels of ownership, accountability, and personal growth.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of Full-Stack Engineers in building products that empower our patients. This role spans our product and engineering organizations, and will regularly influence and inform priorities across the company. This individual loves mentorship and is excited to collaborate with fellow engineers to develop and implement architectural and technical standards. This individual has a product-based mindset and is equally excited to impact our patients' lives as they are to build software.

What You'll Do

  • Build For Our Patients: Keep patients at the center of technical decisions while advocating for privacy, security, and access to care. Connect technical work to patient outcomes through thoughtful implementation.

  • Technical Execution: Contribute to architectural decisions and implement technical standards through code reviews, design discussions, and high-quality code. Balance speed with building reliable, well-structured, extensible solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders on complex projects. Communicate technical concepts clearly and identify potential risks proactively.

  • Mentorship & Growth: Serve as a technical resource and example for other engineers on the team. Share knowledge through clear documentation and thoughtful code reviews. Provide guidance when needed and help maintain quality standards across engineering deliverables.

  • Technical Leadership: Identify improvement opportunities within your team's scope and contribute to technical discussions that shape project direction.

This Role Could Be a Good Fit for You If:

  • You have a minimum 4+ years experience in a Full-Stack Engineering role.

  • You have a minimum 4+ years experience working in Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Django or other modern languages and frameworks.

  • You have 4+ years experience with relational database systems - PostgreSQL (preferred), GraphQL.

  • You have professional experience working in a cloud-based environment - AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure.

  • You take a collaborative approach to software engineering that empowers other developers on the team.

  • You are experienced in working with sensitive data (such as protected health information) or in a regulated environment is a plus.

Visa sponsorship or transfer is not available for this position at present. Must be authorized to work in the country this requisition states.

If you are committed to collaborative problem solving, creating high-quality and user-centric products, and want to make waves in sexual and reproductive healthcare, join us!
