(Senior) Python Backend Engineer (f/m/x)

Every day at ecoligo we work to fight the climate crisis, bringing solar energy to businesses in countries like Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam, Chile, Panama and Costa Rica amongst others through the ecoligo crowdinvesting platform. We own and manage each energy project allowing us to deliver both environmental and economic returns. Our crowdinvestors earn a solid financial return, and our solar clients get an energy provider that’s fairer, more affordable, and more efficient. So far, ecoligo projects will prevent over 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering our atmosphere. And we’re just getting started.

Our quickly growing international team is looking for a (Senior) Python Backend Engineer (f/m/x) to design and build the back end and data foundations of our platform that solves problems and help implement solutions for our customers. Our ideal candidate is ready to utilize their creativity and technical skills whilst growing into a thought leader. In this role you will:

  • Partner with the lead engineer, architect, and product manager to deliver both consumer and internal-facing solutions with high levels of value, usability, and quality

  • Solve complex problems that have far-reaching impact by developing reliable, scalable and secure code

  • Establish and ensure code-quality standards within the development and QA teams, such as Continuous Integration, code reviews, and all required release documentation

  • Participate in architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support efforts.

  • 3+ years of software product engineering experience building end-to-end digital solutions, preferably both B2B and B2C web/cloud-based software offerings

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline is advantageous but not required; master's degree is a plus

  • Experience in engineering best practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, application security

  • Knowledgeable and experience with modern web/cloud-based technology stack and tools, such as: Python, Fast API Framework, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL/Postgres, Git, GitHub, Gitlab, Jira, Confluence

  • Solid understanding and experience of developing web applications and APIs using FAST API.

  • Comfortable working with teams consisting of external and internal team members of product managers, designers and software engineers

  • Fluent in English (English is our daily working language)
