Senior Engineer, Data Engineering

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (Union, NJ - Domestic telecommuting permitted) seeks a Senior Engineer, Data Engineering to work on the Data & Analytics team to develop and oversee data pipeline architecture. Develop innovative data solutions in Google Cloud Platform. Design and construct large relational databases and integrate new software systems with existing data warehouse structure and refine software system performance and functionality. Develop end to end scalable data applications and data pipelines within various databases. Automate data ingress, data quality checks and final table builds. Develop optimal SQL queries and scripts for business logic implementation. Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers on database architecture. Participate in design sessions and design strategies for enterprise database systems while setting standards for operations, programming, and security. Develop cloud applications and understand their designs for scalability.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have 5 years of experience in the following: Data Processing utilizing Python and Building data transformations utilizing SQL. Must have 3 years of experience working with Unix and Linux including shell scripting. Must have 1 year of experience working with Google Cloud Platform including Composer and BigQuery.

Salary: $158,000 - $160,000.
