Senior Data Engineer

About the job

Red Hat’s Corporate Marketing team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build and deliver the next generation capabilities of our data platforms and scale our data strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building data infrastructure, experience working across multiple business functions, and a passion for developing and maintaining resilient data environments. In this role, you will help deploy and maintain scalable combinations of people, process, and technology that ensure best practices in data integration, segmentation and data management.  You will work with teams in Enterprise Data Management, Marketing Technology, and Analytics to integrate business data sets into our Customer Data Platform (CDP) and develop data pipelines and capabilities to enable analysis and user experience execution across multiple digital channels. 

What you will do

• Deploy pipelines and infrastructure in both proof of concept (POC) and production form to support CDP initiatives

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support combinations of platforms and infrastructure across the organization

• Work closely with analytics team to optimize and troubleshoot data sets in SQL, Python, R

• Develop data pipelines from disparate data sources including sales, product telemetry, customer, partner and more

• Develop data sets across data lakes including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Red Shift and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer and Partner teams to understand business requirements, build audience segmentation capabilities, identify gaps and recommend technical solutions

• Maintain knowledge of data elements and Adobe Experience Platform in the maintenance and definition of schema, segment, event and attribute rule sets

• Coordinate with Marketing Technology and Analytics teams on development tasks

• Collaborate across the Red Hat system of websites and digital channels to enable activation throughout the customer and product lifecycle

What you will bring

• Adobe certified professional (preferred) with experience administering or implementing  Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions (including Analytics, Target, Experience Platform, CDP, etc.)

• Ability to manage multiple global projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment

• Experience & understanding of data transformation, extraction, ingestion, loading, transfer, mining, augmentation - full end to end ETL process

• Experience creating & deploying data pipelines across vast data repositories, web properties, silos and being able to use & learn Adobe Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, APIs, etc. to surface reliable data for analysis

• Extensive background both educating stakeholders and developing reports or dashboards to support the needs of the organization across multiple initiatives & programs

• 5+ years of work experience and/or BA/BS/Masters in related field

• Strong analytical skills and experience with advanced reporting and other data analysis tools and/or code sets (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, R, Python) as well as other business tools (e.g., Salesforce, Eloqua, Adobe Analytics) is a plus

• Great problem solver, ability to learn independently, and work in an ambiguous environment

• Ability to manage multiple global projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment
