🚀 About your mission at Baubap
The Senior Backend Developer's mission is to design, develop, and maintain a robust operational risk management software tailored for Baubap. This platform will facilitate real-time tracking, analysis, and mitigation of operational risks that arise from our financial services operations. The developer will leverage their expertise in Python and backend technologies to build a scalable, secure, and user-friendly system that integrates seamlessly with our existing infrastructure, ensuring that risk management processes are more predictive, transparent, and efficient.

Develop a Comprehensive Operational Risk Management Platform : Create a fully functional software tool that allows for the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of operational risks, enabling proactive risk management.
Ensure System Scalability and Reliability : Build a system that can handle increasing volumes of data and users, with minimal downtime and performance degradation.
Data Integration and Automation : Seamlessly integrate with existing databases and financial systems to automate the collection and analysis of risk-related data.
Security and Compliance : Implement rigorous security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure the platform complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement : Regularly update the platform based on user feedback, operational requirements, and emerging risks, ensuring the tool remains relevant and effective.
🚀 Day to day
Designing and implementing backend services and APIs to support operational risk management functionalities.
Working closely with the data science team to integrate risk models and algorithms into the platform.
Conducting code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure code quality and system reliability.
Managing databases and ensuring the integrity and security of risk management data.
Participating in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
🚀 Requirements
Python Proficiency : Advanced expertise in Python, with extensive experience using frameworks like Django or Flask for backend development.
Frontend Integration via Python : Knowledge in Streamlit or similar Python-based tools (e.g., Dash by Plotly) for creating interactive web applications. This skill is crucial for developing user-friendly interfaces for the operational risk management platform without the need for extensive JavaScript.
API Development : Solid understanding of RESTful API development and micro-services architecture to support frontend-backend integration.
Database Management : Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for robust data handling and storage solutions.
Containerization and Orchestration : Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other similar technologies for application deployment, scaling, and management.
Security and Data Protection : Strong knowledge of software security practices, data protection protocols, and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to financial data.
At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of developing complex applications.
Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in risk management or microfinance, is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Familiarity with data science and machine learning tools and libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn) to work closely with data scientists.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards relevant to the financial industry and risk management.
Prior experience with operational risk management software or tools.
