In order to better equip the front office teams, we are developing a new Risk & PnL engine within our CTRM (Commodity Trading & Risk Management system). We are looking for a strong Python developer with an affinity for quantitative risk modelling and business interaction.
You will be the first member of the Dev team building the new Risk & PnL engine to be based in Houston, with the rest of the team based in London. You will:
Deploy : Lead the roll-out of the new Risk & PnL engine to our Americas business (trading desks & risk management teams) – be the team’s ambassador in Houston, closely collaborating both with the business and other tech teams
Team-up : Closely liaise and work with the rest of the new Risk & PnL engine Dev team in London on any development needed by the Americas business
Develop : Leverage core components of the new Risk & PnL engine, and other parts of the CTRM to develop reports, tools and functionalities required by the business
As a Risk Strat you will be at the crossroads of the development of this new Risk & PnL engine, facing both business priorities and technical challenges. You will often face ambiguous problems requiring you to define not only the answer but also the question.
This role involves regular travel to London, to ensure close collaboration with the rest of the new risk engine Dev team.
What you need to bring
Python: 3+ years developing with Python on enterprise-level solutions. Demonstrated experience in the development of robust, maintainable and extensible Python code
Some professional development experience in one other structured language, e.g., C++, C#, Java
University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or equivalent
Strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently as well as in a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Full proficiency communicating in English in a business context (verbal & written)
Interest in the business and its use of tech tools
Exemplary work ethics
Qualifications that will help you stand out
Some experience with derivative risk concepts including option pricing and Greek risk measures, ideally in Commodities
Some experience in developing UIs in React
