Python Software Engineer, Security and System Tools - New College Grad

NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new opportunities that are hard to solve, that only we can tackle, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work, to amplify human imagination and intelligence. Make the choice to join us today.

As a software engineer in our Internal Infrastructure Group, you will continuously innovate and develop scalable, reliable, high performance systems, APIs, and tools to allow us to build the next generation of chips in partnership with a variety of teams at NVIDIA! Your excellent technical and soft skills will allow you to maintain a tight feedback loop with internal customer to provide vital software solutions for emerging chip technologies. The systems you develop and extend will operate at large scale—being deployed as first class infrastructure to service millions of requests per day in distributed cloud computing environments with thousands of heterogeneous servers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and implement tools in Python and other languages to enable the design, development, and verification of GPUs and other chips.

  • Participate in the full life-cycle of tool development, test, and deployment of the tools you develop.

  • Directly support the engineers who use the software you develop.

  • Work closely with a diverse set of internal engineering teams to understand the workflows your tools and libraries enable and support.

  • Directly contribute to the overall quality of and improve time to market for our next generation chips and deep learning models.

What we need to see:

  • Knowledge of the Python language and its ecosystem.

  • Confident understanding of object-oriented programming concepts—including design patterns.

  • Excellent software engineering skills and a sense of craftsmanship.

  • Passion for engaging with internal customers to address technical challenges with appropriate solutions.

  • Comfortable with adjusting course to align with the dynamic realities of changing customer needs.

  • Capable with Linux development programming tools.

  • A bias toward action in the face of (seemingly) blocking challenges.

  • Recently completing a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • A real passion for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of other engineers

  • Experience developing and deploying widely-used software tools and APIs at scale.

  • Experience with end to end Python package delivery ecosystem; from design and development through documentation, CI/CD, packing, distribution, and maintenance.

  • Understanding of distributed and microservice architecture principles.

  • Experience in building or interacting with continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.

  • Familiarity with chip design, verification, and/or machine learning workflows.

  • Python community open source project contribution and involvement.

  • MS (preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

The base salary range is $110,000 - $211,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
