About the Role

KeyMe sits at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, software, and mechanical design.  Our self-service kiosks scan and duplicate thousands of keys per day, and are effectively an autonomous self-calibrating machine shop in a box.

We build systems to scale out our fleet of robotic key copying kiosks as we expand our operations throughout the US. We are responsible for a broad range of KeyMe’s technology development such as our core libraries, backend integration software, USB device management, and robotics control software. Control everything from robotic cutting wheels to cameras to credit card readers. As a member of our team, you will extend existing services written in Python. We offer an extremely broad range of engineering activities that ensure you’ll never be bored in your career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and extend our core kiosk capabilities -- everything from robotic motion to inter-system communication.

  • Add support for new hardware: new iterations of our hardware, new peripherals to make the kiosks more capable.

  • Extend our existing fleet management tools to better monitor and diagnose the behavior of our 5000+ robots.

  • Improve upon our existing systems with an emphasis on scalability and durability.

  • Work collaboratively across engineering teams (including machine learning, computer vision, and UX) to improve the user experience.

  • Build the tools and test platforms to empower our kiosk manufacturing, refurbishment and field support teams.
