Python Developer (Remote from US)

This role offers the opportunity to design and build high-performance, secure backend systems supporting critical applications. You will work on developing RESTful APIs, containerized microservices, and data pipelines while integrating AI/ML workflows and external services. Accountabilities:

* Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
* Build containerized microservices and deploy applications in AWS or other cloud environments
* Integrate external APIs, including government and enterprise services, with robust error handling
* Develop data processing and ETL pipelines, including SQL/NoSQL databases, and apply NLP techniques to documents
* Implement AI/ML workflows and support model training and deployment
* Ensure secure coding practices, authentication (OAuth 2.0/JWT), and compliance with security frameworks
* Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
* Contribute to agile development processes, including sprints, Git workflows, and collaborative code reviews

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
* 7+ years of professional Python development experience
* Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture
* Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and writing efficient queries
* Strong understanding of secure coding practices and authentication systems
* Experience with Docker, cloud environments (AWS), and CI/CD pipelines
* Familiarity with AI/ML model integration and training workflows
* Knowledge of government security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP, Zero Trust)
* Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to support projects in a government or DoD environment, requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain clearance

Desired Skills (Preferred):

* High-performance Kubernetes deployments and microservices optimization
* ETL pipelines and distributed systems design
* Caching (Redis), message queues (SQS), and performance tuning
* Advanced SQL and database optimization
* Frontend development experience with [React.js](http://React.js)
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and cloud-native service meshes (App Mesh, Istio)
* Experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise platforms
