About the role

The objective of the Platform Engineer at Hubtype is to contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of our SaaS platform. This role will focus on leveraging Django+Celery (Python), AWS, Terraform, and Postgres to build and optimize our platform infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. And also the observability of the platform with Cloud watch/AWS, New Relic, and PagerDuty.

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the platform that supports our SaaS offering. You will work within the Platform Team with other experienced engineers to ensure the smooth integration of new features, infrastructure improvements, and site reliability. Applying security and observability best practices will be an important part of your responsibilities, as well as building internal tools to enable the rest of the engineers to be as productive and efficient as possible when building new features.

Typical responsibilities of a Platform Engineer at Hubtype include:

  • Collaborate with the Product Engineers team to design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems using Django/Python.

  • Architect and maintain the AWS infrastructure, leveraging services like Fargate, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFront among others.

  • Utilize Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources, ensuring infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.

  • Optimize database performance and manage data integrity for the Postgres database.

  • Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and automated software delivery.

  • Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize system resources.

  • Implement and maintain security best practices, helping us maintain the ISO27001 certification and providing responses to customer queries about platform security and architecture.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, and participate in on-call rotations if required.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies related to platform engineering.


  • 5+ years experience in software engineering roles, DevOps, Platform Engineering or SRE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.

  • English & Spanish Proficiency

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals - data structures, algorithms, and software design practices

  • Proficiency in Django/Python web development, including experience with frameworks, such as Django Rest Framework.

  • Proven experience in building, deploying and scaling real-world backend applications with high loads.

  • Advanced skills in Databases, especially SQL and Postgres

  • Advanced skills in DevOps, observability and security fundamentals

  • Understand business requirements, propose solutions and implement them

  • Create good and clear technical documentation

  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work on features independently as well as in a collaborative team environment and meet required schedules and timelines

  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including Fargate, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, etc

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the ability to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.

  • As an SDR at Hubtype, you will be joining a very fast-paced pathway for ambitious and motivated individuals interested in a sales career. This accelerated sales track is made up of two distinct phases:

    • Entry: You will work as an SDR with a dedicated Mentor that will share with you all their knowledge. We will teach you about the SaaS technology industry. You will generate sales demand and pipeline revenue through the development of inbound and outbound leads. This job will help you develop foundational sales skills and an authentic sales approach.

    • Advanced: You will be promoted in alignment with the sales team and sales manager. At this stage, you will continue to develop leads, and will have the opportunity to conduct first meetings & run demos. You will also learn from top performing account partners how to be successful and understand the full cycle of the deal, from lead to close.
