As member of the Machine Learning Engineering team (MLOps) in Optasia, you need an extensive experience with machine learning flows, and the development and deployment of advanced algorithms. They have the capability to (i) build ML flows , (ii) design and develop statistical and machine learning algorithms, and (iii) operationalize them in credit risk management. Machine Learning Engineers are part of a large team of 40 people, working closely with Big Data Engineers and Analysts.

What you will do

  • Developing and deploying advanced profit scoring models and data ML pipelines to extract, transform and analyze business transactional data while ensuring the scalability and robustness of the solutions

  • Building scalable, reliable and automated ML flows

  • Dealing with Big Data (datasets in TBs with hundreds of columns), stored in Hadoop clusters

  • Solution implementation using ML libraries (e.g Scikit-learn, Keras, Tensorflow, Apache MLlib) and big-data applications and tools (Apache Spark)

  • Designing and implementing credit risk models and algorithms beyond the state of the art

  • Experiment with new features and representations that will enhance the performance of the deployed solutions

  • Keeping up with the latest in Data Science and Machine Learning tooling & communities.

  • Continuously improving algorithms and methods through rigorous investigation and evaluation of alternatives

  • Work closely and train data analysts in using advanced analytics

  • Write production-quality code for ML pipelines.

  • Write production-quality code for REST API services.

  • Contribute to optimization, testing, and tooling to improve code/system quality.

What you will bring

  • BSc and MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science from an accredited institution

  • 3+ years of industry experience with Applied Machine Learning, ML flows and Data Science

  • A solid foundation in the core concepts of machine learning and statistics

  • A solid foundation in using the Python ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas) for data analysis

  • Experience with distributed computing platforms such as Hadoop and Spark will be an asset

  • Ability to efficiently search and understand the scientific literature of mathematical models, machine learning and AI

  • Ability to judge the relevance of existing models and algorithms to specific business needs

  • Passion for learning, exploring and developing new models and machine learning and AI algorithms

  • Ability to hit tight deadlines and work under pressure and strict attention to detail

  • Cutting-edge technologies aware, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies

  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining high-scale, production ML systems in Python (on Linux-based environments).

  • Familiar with development processes using Linux, Git, Jenkins etc

Will be considered a plus

  • Programing in PySpark or Scala framework

  • Practical experience with big-data applications and tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop)

  • Practical experience with REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask etc.) framework.

  • Knowledge in containerized application development(Docker-Compose/Swarm).

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD best practices(Git, Jenkins)

  • Design and implement Airflow DAGs

  • Experience in working with secure code development guidelines and coding practices (i.e. OWASP, NIST)
