Scope of role
As a Senior Software Engineer will ensure that OP5 Monitor meets the needs of the current customer base from a technical perspective. This will include understanding the product and ensuring any changes are consistent with the architecture.You will report to the Engineering Manager - Infrastructure Monitoring in our UK office, whilst managing a local team of engineers in our Makati office. The wider Engineering team is a global team with main hubs in Manila, Sweden, Spain, UK and North America.
The Makati office is growing and we are looking for Engineers that want to be part of a successful team building software products and working with the latest technologies.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:
Lead a small cross functional team using Agile KanBan framework
Maintenance of all backend components written in C, C++, Go and Python
Oversight of the OP5 Monitor product architecture
Work with the Product Owner to agree priorities of work in the backlog
Work with our support team and customers to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues and improve the product
Provide support to other members of the team
Requirements
5 years experience with the majority of the following languages; C, C++, Go, Python and PHP
Experience working with MySQL
Experience working with GIT
Experience with RESTful Services and APIs
Advanced Linux especially RHEL, systemd and RPM packaging
Knowledge of CI systems such as Buildbot and GoCD
Business level oral and written English
Interaction with open source communities and contribution to open source projects (desirable)
Comfortable in using several open source technologies and tools
Experience working in Agile environments (SCRUM, JIRA, KanBan)
Experience of IT infrastructure monitoring or management (desirable)
Knowledge of Nagios or Naemon
