As Lead Cloud Services Engineer, you will

• Take the lead on building out, supporting our cloud services and architecting scalable infrastructureOwn projects and manage their execution

• Lead a team of DevOps engineers by example

• Align with stakeholders across the organisation

• Take current and potential future developments into account

• Work closely with and report to the Director of Platform & Infrastructure

• Support our engineering team in software development (CI, CD)

• Design, build and maintain our service infrastructure on Kubernetes, as well as our server infrastructure on AWS

• Optimise and automate various IT processes

• On call shifts may be applicable in the future

We require

• A strong IT Background, ideally 4+ years as DevOps Engineer

• A Leadership mindset and the ability to lead by example

• The ability to look at complex problems and distil them into concrete tasks, services and products

• In-depth knowledge of the services that we are running our platform on (EKS/K8s, AWS, CI/CD Platforms, Github Actions)

• Proven track record

  • of implementing complex services in a variety of environments

  • in designing and running complex and scalable infrastructure

• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux, especially on system level (bash, command line)

• Good knowledge of container/virtualization technologies (Docker, VMs)

• Good knowledge of security best practices

• Good basic knowledge of Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL

This is what you will need to succeed

• IT Background, ideally 2+ years as DevOps Engineer

• In-depth knowledge of the services that we are running our platform on (EKS/K8s, AWS, CI/CD Platforms, Istio)

• Good knowledge of infrastructure-as-code technologies (terraform)

• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux, especially on system level (bash, command line)

• Good knowledge of container/virtualization technologies (Docker, VMs)

• Good knowledge of security best practices

• Good basic knowledge of Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL

The following would be a big plus

• Knowledge of operating and maintaining Database Servers such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.

• Experience with automation technologies like ansible or packer
