Junior Test Engineer

LIGENTEC is a fast-growing European company with headquarter in Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 2021 we expanded our manufacturing capabilities by creating LIGENTEC France, in the South of Paris. We specialize in the design & manufacturing of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for customers in high-tech areas such as Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies, and Biosensors.

LIGENTEC All-Nitride (AN) technology enables our customers to develop their products in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a:

Junior Test Engineer

Tasks

  • Contribute to the improvement of automated wafer-level testing scripts and measurement workflows

  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to testing and logistics

  • Collaborate with the Process Integration team to align on test timelines and priorities

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards for lot scheduling, reporting, and automation workflows

  • Support daily testing and logistics operations:

  1. Execution of automated test campaigns using dedicated measurement setups

  2. Wafer packaging and preparation for shipment

  3. Visual inspection and documentation of wafers

  • Work on both front-end and back-end components of internal dashboards (data acquisition, processing, and visualization)

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Computer Science, or a related technical field

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in an optical laboratory or test environment (internships included)

  • Basic proficiency in Python; familiarity with Django, Flask, SQLAlchemy, or Chart.js is an advantage

  • Interest or experience in data visualization and dashboard development

  • Understanding of automated instrumentation and lab equipment is a plus

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn

  • Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Working proficiency in English (French is a plus)

  • Prior experience in the semiconductor or photonics industry is an asset
