About The Role:
As an Integration Engineer at k-ID, you will be a core technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust integrations between k-ID's services and a diverse range of client and internal systems. You'll leverage your deep technical expertise in full-stack web development and game engines to ensure our Global Compliance Engine is seamlessly and effectively implemented. Your work will directly enable game studios and tech companies to achieve worldwide regulatory compliance for users of all ages, focusing on the technical execution of age verification, parental consent, and permission management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions connecting k-ID's core services with third-party platforms, client systems, and internal tools
Where needed, implement and manage backend services and components that support integration workflows, utilizing your full-stack development skills (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java)
Where needed, work hands-on with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) to build, test, and troubleshoot integrations to support game integrations with our platform
Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to define integration requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality technical implementations
Work directly with client developers and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements, design integration strategies, and provide expert guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, integration guides, and code samples to empower developers and accelerate implementation
Develop and maintain demonstrations of integration functionalities
Stay current on global gaming regulations, compliance requirements, emerging web technologies, game engine advancements, and best practices in API and systems integration
Contribute to product evolution by providing technical feedback and insights based on integration challenges and client requirements
Analyze client and internal environments to recommend optimal integration approaches for the k-ID Global Compliance Engine
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to integrations, ensuring high availability and reliability
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong problem-solving skills and a consultative, solutions-oriented approach
5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on systems integration , API development , and full-stack web development
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React/Vue/Angular) , Python (Django/Flask) , C++, C#, Java)
Proven experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and webhook integrations
Hands-on experience with game engines such as Unity (C#) and/or Unreal Engine (C++/Blueprints) , including scripting, plugin development, or SDK integration
Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern front-end frameworks
Working knowledge of user authentication flows, session management, and data security principles
Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
8+ years of relevant industry experience, including significant experience in a dedicated integration engineering role
Knowledge of WebView implementations, iframe integrations, and cross-platform development considerations
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven integration patterns
Experience with secure credential handling, encryption, and user verification workflows
History of leading complex technical integration projects
Deep understanding of global privacy regulations related to children (COPPA, GDPR-K, etc.)
Background in developing and maintaining SDKs or integration libraries for third-party developers
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for integrations
Direct experience integrating with age verification systems, parental controls, or digital compliance solutions
