Front End Software Developer

Chatham Financials’ Global Real Estate (“GRE”) sector solves real estate investors' capital markets problems and brings efficiency and innovation to the changing global landscape through unique offerings including interest rate hedging, capital advisory, defeasance and prepayment, debt management, accounting services and valuation. As part of Chatham's GRE sector, the Data Science team exists to extract both efficiency and insight from the data that flows through these various businesses. Specifically, we develop ML enabled tooling that is used both internally and externally to ingest and extract insight from (mainly) unstructured data sources.

 In this role you will:

• Develop high-quality user interfaces and responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Implement and maintain front-end libraries, frameworks, and tools to improve website performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Continuously improve and refine the front-end development process by identifying and addressing areas of inefficiency or improvement.

• Build proof of concept webapps in Python, using Django and other frameworks.

• Work on a data science team actively investing in the growth of our data team, data infrastructure, and data product offerings.

• Partner with internal clients to understand of business functions and informational needs. Gain expertise in tools, technologies, and applications/databases in specific business areas and company-wide systems.

Your impact:

As a Front End Software Developer, you'll play a critical role in transforming our Global Real Estate sector by developing user-friendly interfaces for data science models and applications The tools you contribute to will be directly used by internal users across the Global Real Estate sector, and drive transformation in our core products. This will be a split between multiple greenfield projects. You will help to foster an inclusive culture where technical excellence, delivery and collaboration is encouraged. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to learn about data science, data pipelining, and cloud computing.

Contributors to your success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with one of the Python web frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI)

• Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)

• Experience with at least one of the SQL flavors (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).

• Experience in git (we use Gitlab)

• Desire to self-start, work independently, and proactively look for value add.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD

• Experience in working in an AWS environment.

• Experience with agile development and scrum.

• Professional experience in the finance or real estate industries
