Embedded Platform Engineer

At Sevensense we push the frontiers of mobile robotics. Our mission is to build the eyes and brain for the robots of the future! Thus, we enable new robotic applications in places such as airports, supermarkets, warehouses and train stations. In addition to providing intelligent software for localization and navigation of autonomous vehicles, Sevensense manufactures and sells its proprietary multi-camera system.

We are looking for a talented engineer to join the Embedded Platform team. As an engineer in the Embedded Platform team you will be working on designing and optimizing our different multi-camera and compute products. You will be the main source of electronics knowledge and become responsible for our electronics design processes. You will be interacting with our EMS partners to ensure product quality, and with our design partners to create cutting-edge systems. You will be developing tools both software and hardware to improve production flows and dive into exciting firmware tasks.

Tasks

Your mission

• Design prototypes for our next generation products. Oversee prototype fabrication, including performing bring-up, debugging, and rework.

• Ensure compliance with EMC requirements through testing and good design practices.

• Create test requirements and plans for testing boards in production.

• Perform root cause analysis of quality issues and improve existing designs.

• Streamline our production process and create tools that allow scaling up.

• Write microcontroller and/or FPGA firmware and participate in code reviews.

• Be the main point of contact for electronics matters.

• Drive outsourcing projects and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

Your story

• Achieved Electrical Engineering skills through some combination of a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, work experience, and/or relevant hobbyist/DIY projects.

• Experienced with Altium, KiCAD and/or similar CAD programs.

• Experienced with lab tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering irons, etc…

• Experienced with at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Python

• Prior exposure to EMC testing.

• Can-do mindset with the ability to take ownership of multiple areas.

• Responsible and detail-oriented team player who never wants to stop learning.

• Experience with any of the following topics is a plus

• Image sensors and MIPI CSI

• Common protocols I2C/SPI/Ethernet/PCIe/USB

• Wireless protocol suites (802.11/4G/5G)

• FPGAs and/or STM32 line of microcontrollers

• Creating PCB in-circuit and functional test plans

• Nvidia Jetson line of SoMs

• Yocto

• Django framework
