Job Description

The ISO unit of Verisk is looking for Insurance Data Analysts to support our large team of actuaries and data analytics experts, who create innovative analytic products based on our unique database of over 21 billion records spanning more than twenty lines of insurance.

You will play a hands-on role in developing new processes to create a wide variety of ISO’s analytic solutions including: our advisory prospective loss costs and rating factors; analyses that underlie the development of our loss costs (such as distributions by peril, classification or geographic area); actuarial projection of ultimate claims, and analysis of trends impacting premiums and claims; analytical data management, including smart data quality analytics, data aggregations provided to US state insurance regulators and analytic research & development.

A successful Insurance Data Analyst will possess excellent technical and mathematical skills, to manipulate data and derive analyses. Create clear and easy to understand reports. Present your analyses, ideas, progress and results to internal manager and colleagues. Communicate effectively with customers and insurance regulators.

  • Support a high-performance collaborative culture. Participate in peer-review with colleagues on an ongoing basis to learn, teach, and ultimately, produce high quality results.

Understand:

  • The structure of insurance datasets

  • The US P&C insurance business including coverages, components of rating variables, etc.

  • Basic actuarial concepts.

  • Develop knowledge of Verisk Analytics’ business practices, products, and data sources.

  • Remain current on big data techniques and become familiar with state-of-the-art tools.

  • Contribute to the creation of detailed project plans to ensure projects are completed on time.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Interested in growing data analysis, automation and process improvement fields.

  • Availability to work in a hybrid model in the Cracow office.
