Backend Software Engineer

Backend / Data Engineer Opportunity!

In this role, you will work within Veson Nautical’s Shipfix division. Shipfix leverages advanced technology to streamline maritime operations and enhance collaboration across the shipping ecosystem. Shipfix's intuitive platform empowers maritime professionals by simplifying tasks such as chartering vessels, tracking cargo, and analyzing market trends. Shipfix equips professionals with the tools needed to make informed decisions, maximize resources, and navigate the complexities of global trade with confidence. The Opportunity:

As a Backend/Data Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating all of the company's customer data, transforming it into a valuable tool for creating value. You'll play a key role in ramping up our Data applications for our innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and organize raw data,

• Uniformize and combine complex and large data sources,

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines,

• Solve variety of challenging data problems,

• Build intelligent and optimized algorithms, insure deployment and maintenance in production,

• Write and document unit and integration tests,

• Improve quality, accuracy, and performance of existing data models,

• Detect and correct data issues reported by customers,

• Qualify data,

• Collaborate with Data Scientists and core team on several projects,

• Understand and evaluate business needs and objectives,

• Participate in the the elaboration of data-driven business rules and implement them.

Our Stack:

Python, Flask/Django/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pandas, SpaCy, GCP, Streamlit

Qualifications:

• Previous experience (+3 years) as a Dev backend or in a similar role,

• Expertise in Python and SQL,

• Experience with GCP, Dataflow, BigQuery and PostgreSQL is a plus,

• Team spirit,

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in French and English,

• Rigor, autonomy, and organization skills,

• Interest in shipping is a plus
