Associate Python Data Engineer

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Python developer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. You will develop and maintain a database solution to store the expansive data generated during each test of this system. Our ideal candidate will leverage past experience to design a database solution with input from the users and work with them to establish an effective database management process.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a MongoDB for storing data to support performance analysis of algorithms supporting Missile Warning
Work directly with Analysts and Engineers to identify and document the requirements and use cases of the database system
Provide troubleshooting support for the team(s) managing the database
Consult and support the development of related Analysis tools utilizing the database
Detail oriented
A bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science with 1+ year of professional experience
1+ year experience developing a NoSQL database program using Python
Demonstrated ability to work on Linux operating systems
Demonstrated python development experience
Capability to follow logic in other languages (C++, shell scripts)
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
Detail oriented
Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing a MongoDB database using Python
A current active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
Experience using visualization, analysis, and GUI Python packages
Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR data
An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
Experience working in an AGILE development process

Flexible Work Hours
The pay range for this position is $82,000 - $91,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
