Are you a software engineer (Python) and interested in the absolute deep-tech world of quantum computing? This might be your next challenge.

The impact of the role

In this role you are part of the core design team of QuantWare in Delft. We update the design code on a frequent basis, both for customers doing state-of-the-art research and for internal developments toward a scalable (1000+ qubits) quantum computer. Automation of this design process is key when growing to higher qubit numbers. As a Design Software Engineer, you can expect to be part of an ever-growing team where you can significantly impact the code architecture.

You will also be a key player in improving the performance of our scalable quantum computer architecture. To achieve this we are striving for fully automated quality control, involving both mechatronics for measurements and software for data gathering. The resulting data is analyzed and fed back into the design process to improve our next generation of quantum processor units.

What are you going to do?

• Write and improve code to automate quantum chip design and simulation

• Using your background in computer science, give leadership in software design

• Create methods for both obtaining and analyzing data to improve our qubit design

• Developing new types of chip components

The ideal candidate…

… probably doesn't exist, but if you check most of the boxes underneath we would like to get in touch:

• At least a bachelor degree (Informatica / Computer science)

• You have some work experience (parttime or fulltime)

• Python programming experience

• You're a great communicator and knows how to be a great teamplayer

Would be nice if you have experience;

• Creating a scalable code base

• Superconducting quantum circuits / cQED experience or affiliation

• With electromagnetic finite elements analysis (like Ansys Electronics HFSS)
