The Qumata model uses data to calculate the risk of diagnosis for over 800 conditions, along with Extra Mortalities and Morbidities. This can be used to save applicants hours filling out long insurer questionnaires or visiting the doctor, and disrupting the traditional underwriting process for the benefit of the early adopters.

You will help us revolutionise this industry with a range of clients and partners from small to top-tier Insurers, re-insurers, and MGAs in Europe and APAC.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing company as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be able to help shape the future of our product, whilst working closely with our cross functional teams and the Tech Lead. We use cutting edge technologies like AWS, Kubernetes and FastAPI to ensure our products are robust, scaleable, fast, and self-healing along with best in class monitoring tools to give early and detailed insights into any potential issues.

Responsibilities will include, not be limited to:

• Write code that is simple, beautiful, testable and secure.
• Lead small teams of software engineers to improve our products.
• Communicating ideas and thought processes to our other technical teams.
• Plan, architect, document and manage new features.
• Mentor other developers through code reviews.
• Maintain our high standard of test coverage and work closely with QA Engineers.
• Deploy services to the cloud using AWS and Kubernetes alongside our Devops Engineers.
• Assist clients with any potential issues and questions that might arise.

• 8+ years of software development experience

• Singapore based

• Fluent in English

• Ability to take the lead in complex development work

• Strong experience with backend REST API Python framework (ideally FastAPI)

• Strong experience with test-driven development (ideally unittest or pytest)

• Experience with web development (React.js) or even mobile development (React Native) optional, but welcome

• Experience utilising containerisation and container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)

• You're delivery focussed, able to take ownership and self organise

• A constant learner - reading and absorbing ideas/information

• Commercial exposure of end to end full software development life cycle

• Working with Git (ideally Gitlab) with CI/CD experience
