Senior Python Developer Backend (m/f/d)

As a senior Python developer, you will work on advancing MIRAI, Micropsi Industries’ groundbreaking, AI-powered control system for industrial robots. Your focus will be on our cloud infrastructure that runs on AWS and trains models for our clients. You will also work on the software that generates data, communicates with the backend, and controls the robot. You will work closely with the R&D team to roll out new features in the ML stack and ensure compatibility with existing installations in the field. To be successful at this job, you need to have deep knowledge of the Python language, its tooling and ecosystem, in addition to experience with AWS, DevOps practices, and containerized workflows. You should know the value of Infrastructure as Code and be familiar with Docker, Ansible, and Terraform.

Tasks

  • Assume ownership of our backend servers, which means implementing new features, improving existing functionality, and monitoring the running clusters

  • Coordinate with R&D and the operations team to roll out new releases of the ML stack

  • Work on the embedded applications that power data collection and robot operations on the factory floor

  • Continue our Infrastructure as Code initiative to make the backend cluster more robust and easier to deploy and debug

Requirements

  • Proven track record of writing clean, scalable, idiomatic Python code

  • Thorough experience with the Python toolchain and ecosystem

  • Good knowledge of relational databases, especially PostreSQL and SQLite

  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and DevOps skills (Ansible, Terraform a strong preference)

  • Experience with golang

  • Fluent in English

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Interest in robotics and AI

  • Experience with at least one other cloud platform (e.g., Microsoft or Google)
