Senior FullStack (Python/JavaScript) Developer/Software Engineer (Windhoek)

We are looking for a Senior Python/JS developer to join an existing team at an up and coming EU-based EdTech company in a remote position from Windhoek, Namibia.

Tasks

• Work with the team to discover, test, build and ship the next generation of new features.

• Bring improvements to the platform by collaborating with designer to polish existing features.

• Work closely with other engineers by challenging ideas, brainstorming, and having discussions.

• Participate in design and code reviews.

• Identify and communicate software engineering best practices.

• Respond to user queries / requests / feedback and incorporate them.

• Participate in user need-finding activities (like interviewing), team brainstorming and creative sessions. We want you to actively involve yourself early in product discovery.

Requirements

• You have full-stack engineering experience in JavaScript and Python to a senior level (5 years +)

• You have 5+ full years of experience in developing web-based user interfaces.

• You have outstanding skills in Python & JavaScript with a type system (TypeScript).

• You have extensive knowledge in working with React.

• Additional experience with PostgreSQL, Flask, Jest/Cypress Hasura/GraphQL are an added advantage.

• You are obsessed with interactions, animations, and visual details.

• You’re used to version control, code reviews, and agile methodologies.

• You have experience with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL.

• You have experience with product engineering such as building web apps full stack, integrating with relevant APIs and services.

• You don’t wait until somebody asks you for help. You regularly offer it upfront.

• You are a professional in all things and enjoy working in a team.

• Any German language skills are a bonus.
