We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team and lead the development of our data management and information architecture strategy. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in data integration and analytics across all layers, and will work closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to create impactful dashboards and tools that track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) capturing user engagement and retention trends across our mobile and TV apps.
In addition to supporting our reporting solutions, you will collaborate with our mobile engineers to design, prototype, and implement a RESTful API backend that will interface with our existing apps. The ideal candidate should be adept at developing APIs from scratch and specifying the associated back-end software stack.

Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment and operations of the backend API stack you will develop, using software engineering best practices, and other cutting edge methodologies
Build back-end systems from scratch that are capable of handling millions of events per day
Help define the overall strategy of data management and information architecture to support the development and secure operation of our back-end services.
Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed back-end and data products.
Collect and analyze large sets of data using SQL, Python, Tableau, and other tools
Apply analytics and visualization techniques to various datasets across the company.
Build and sustain various dashboards and visualizations used to identify and quantify key metrics and deliver impactful business insights.
Develop and demonstrate expertise in communicating data related topics, including reporting to all levels of the organization with varying degrees of data science understanding.
Develop and supply strategic reporting to the Product Management team, including: weekly summaries, monthly trends, week-over-week analysis, and metrics reporting.
3+ years of professional experience as Software/Data/Product Engineer or Analyst.
Strong programming fundamentals, particularly in data structures, concurrency and services architecture.
Strong back-end experience in designing, developing, and optimizing highly available and scalable RESTful APIs in an agile environment.
Knowledge of backend frameworks (e.g.Flask, Django, Rails, Express.js). Django is preferred.
Strong experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server.Â
Proficiency in SQL and Python to interact with databases and automate repetitive tasks.
Experience creating information-dense dashboards that facilitate insight discovery and drive action.
Experience building data visualizations with tools such as Tableau, Streamlit or others.
Ability to break down and deeply understand complex problems and analyze data to drive strategic objectives.
Ability to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analysis.
Hands on experience with Git, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to deploy fast and often.Â
The desire to learn new frameworks, platforms, and languages.
Experience in devops working with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, etc.
Experience with user-defined workflows (e.g., Airflow).
Experience working in a data analytics role monitoring mobile apps or websites and relevant performance tracking/monitoring analytics.
Experience with data science tools such as Pandas, Numpy, R, Matlab, Octave
Strong foundation in statistics.
